Objective: Move into your new home as soon as possible

The following plan explains the steps and approximate timing of your Jandson Home project. Click on the link next to each step to see details of what happens during that stage of the project, and the things you have to do.

Selection and commitment

Get your new home project underway. Work with your Jandson consultant to choose the design with options and alternatives, find a site if you don't have one in mind, work out your budget, prepare the preliminary agreement, and lodge the preliminary agreement fee.

Milestone 1

7 weeks

Development application

Submit the Development Application to Council. Prepare working drawings. Get certificates and reports. Prepare and submit the Development Application and pursue it through Council until approved.

Milestone 2

9 weeks

Council approval

Get Council approval to build your new home. Monitor the progress of the application through the Council assessment process.

Milestone 3

3 weeks

Construction certificate and building agreement

Finalise the paperwork so construction can commence. The construction certificate is an approval from Council, required before any building work can commence (including demolition, removing trees, or earthworks). The building agreement is the contract between you and Jandson that defines exactly what we‘re going to build.

Milestone 4

20 - 36 weeks

Construction

Build your new home! This is the business end of the project, when we roll up our sleeves and turn your dream into bricks and mortar. The duration of this stage depends on a number of factors including the size of the home, whether it’s single or double storey, the options you’ve chosen, and the nature of the site. As a rough guide, single storey homes: 20 weeks, standard two-storey homes: 26 weeks, large two-storey homes: 36 weeks.

Move in

Final inspection, settlement, and moving day.

Warranty

6 months

Warranty maintenance and repairs

Your new home is protected by Jandson's six month maintenance warranty.
